‘YOUNG ARTISTS’ Photography Competition, founded by BAFTA and multi award-winning artist
Alison Jackson, is a community-minded photography competition for budding talent and aspiring photographers. This is open to anyone interested in photography, using a phone or camera, from any skill level, any age from 5 years upwards, anyone who lives, works studies in The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea or anyone from anywhere can take a picture of Chelsea. The photographs look to represent how best to sum up these extraordinary times, from climate change, living with a disability, supporting your friends, families, or local businesses.
“Everyone should have a chance to shine. The reason I started this photography competition was for everyone to have the same fantastic opportunities I have had within the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, specifically the outstanding education available that can lead to so much more. I was offered my first BBC award-winning TV series whilst I was fresh out of college in RBKC, so I have made the prizes primarily educational and vocational. There are many extremely talented people out there and I want to give a chance to those who haven't had one before. I want to discover new talent and aspiring photographers with fresh
‘ways of seeing.’“
- Alison Jackson, Founder.
We hope the ‘Young Artists’ photography competition can open up a world of different photographic ideas, on any subject or style. The 2019 winners had their work exhibited at the world-famous Saatchi Gallery, while others won Leica camera equipment, University of the Arts offer short university courses, bursaries, mentorships and memberships to respected photographic clubs.
The photographs are also available for sale on Saatchi Art Online.
